If the canine has an alert, they refer the customers to their Pest Control company for treatment. Customers have no idea that the two companies are actually one. Perhaps, but not likely. Or maybe it does, but just indirectly. In all reality, its been our experience that bed bugs don’t like excessive heat and will move away from it if at all possible. Its also been tested by us that bed bugs seem to reproduce faster in cooler climates. The point we are trying to make is that bed bugs really don’t have a season. Bed Bugs ‘Superbug’ found-MRSA

K9 P.I. releases this information for public awareness. A new report just got released that it may actually be possible for bed bugs carry a superbug. “Canadian scientists detected drug-resistant staph bacteria in bedbugs from three hospital patients from a Vancouver neighborhood.” Five bed bugs were squashed and inspected. MRSA was in fact found on three of the bugs. MRSA is resistant to several types of common antibiotics and can become deadly if it gets through the skin and into the bloodstream. Also, there were two bedbugs that had VRE, a less dangerous form of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Both germs are often seen in hospitals.

The study on this has just begun and its in the very early stages. A lot of key questions have not been answered. One that should concern everybody is whether the bacteria is transmitted from humans to the bugs or the worst case scenario, the bugs to humans. Another key question would be if the bacteria is on the outside of the bed bugs or if its living and growing on the inside of the bugs, which would suggest the possibility of biological transmission, researchers said. Researchers are saying that if this superbug was to enter the bloodstream it could be deadly.

As if Hotels and Hospitals had enough to worry about, this news will sure have a huge impact on how they approach bed bug problems.
